The archive is organised by where the negatives came from rather than by date — boxes arrived from different relatives, and mixing them made it impossible to remember who had already been asked about a frame.
- Box A — grandparents' flat
- Roughly 1600 frames, 1961–1989. Mostly 6×6 medium format, some very early colour that has shifted badly towards red. Scanning finished in 2024, captions still being collected.
- Box B — my parents
- About 900 frames, 1984–2003. Ordinary 35mm, well stored, easy material. Includes the wedding album that was rescanned in June at higher resolution.
- Box C — unlabelled
- Around 400 frames. Nobody knows whose these are. Several people appear repeatedly and remain unidentified. Kept intact in case someone recognises a face.
- Slides
- Twelve carousels, mountains and travel, late 1980s. Fungus damage on two of them. This is the slowest part of the project — each slide has to be cleaned by hand.
- Current rolls
- Film I shoot now, numbered sequentially. Roll #114 was the last one developed. These are the only frames in the archive with reliable dates.
